Q1: Is there technical support for STGS users?

A: Sure, we provide web-based technical support for all registered users. Most problems you may meet, how ever, may be solved by reading help, which is rather detailed and clearly arranged. This FAQ also provides answers for some common questions. If you still have problem after that, just feel free to write us. We'll help you as soon as we can.

Q2. What's the relation between STGS and STGuru?

1) STGS was created based STGuru. STGS is the ActiveX component version of STGuru.

2) STGS has basic straight Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese transfer abilities, and it also supports professional code transfer mechanism. But the data based on which it provides word adjustment comes from STGuru. STGS only uses the data. It doesn't create or configure the data. STGuru provides all the management jobs on word adjustment libs for STGS. All registered users will also receive a bonus copy of STGuru Full Edition to realize such management purpose.

Q3. What's the difference between demo and full version of STGS?

There are 2 download versions of STGS - Demo Edition and Full Edition. Demo Edition is for you to try it only. Full Edition is the full-functioning version for registered users. If you are interested in trying how STGS work, you can download the Demo Edition from our download page. Full version will be provided to registered users directly.

Remarks	STGS Demo Edition and Tester Project give you the chance to test how STGS works and how you can use this product. If you hope to see the transfer quality of STGS Full Edition, you can try to transfer in STGuru in your computer, because full edition of STGS just use the very same data and procedure as STGuru in transfer.

Pay attention: GBK->Big5 is part of transfer procedure from GBK Traditional Chinese to other codes. Since most pure Traditional Chinese characters are out of the 3755 basic character set, they may be transferred to "□" after the transfer.

If you are not sure what characters are within the Simplified or Traditional Chinese basic character set supported by STGS Demo Edition, you can extract them by the Sample Text Editor embedded within demo version STGS Control Panel.

If you hope to check the transfer quality of the full edition, you can try STGuru, because STGS uses the very same data and procedures just provided by / copied from STGuru.

Q4. How to configure STGS?

A: You should install STGuru, and configure STGS by running "STGS Configuration Wizard" under "Tools" menu of STGS Control Panel. Since all configuration settings can be found on the main UI of STGS Control Panel, you can also complete configuration by configure all items on the Control Panel. Following jobs are involved in STGS configuration:

1) Register STGS ActiveX control in Windows.

2) Locate the paths for STGuru installation folder and STGuru executable program. (You should first install STGuru if you haven't).

3) Configure word adjustment in STGuru, and then close and reload STGS ActiveX control, or reset word adjustment profile at real time by the Apply Word Adjustment management interface provided by STGS control.

Q5. Why I can't run STGS Tester program?

A. You must first register the STGS ActiveX control in you operating system before you can use it. If you can't open or run STGS tester program, the most possible reason is you haven't registered STGS ActiveX control. Please register it as prompted (if you receive a prompt) or register it in STGS Control Panel, then come back to run this program.

Q6: I found a bug...I think STGS is not good enough in ...I am confused on ...I think STGS can be improved this way...
